Objective of Certificate Course in Nutrigenomics Course

The primary objective of offering Certificate Course in Nutrigenomics Course is to develop a skilled knowledge base in areas of genetics, nutrition and nutrigenomics which can promote the concepts and principles in nutrigenomics, and develop skills for playing the role of nutrigenomic counselor.

Course Description

The Certificate Course in Nutrigenomics (CCNG) is designed with a combined integrative and preventive educational approach to gene-nutrition, health and diseases. The course has been structured into five informative sections to provide comprehensive knowledge that is required for every student to gain effective entry into the fastest growing nutrigenomic industry as a competent nutrigenomic counselor. All three sections of the course will cover various aspects of genetics, nutrition and nutrigenomics as highlighted below

Course Path

1 Semester of 4 months through Correspondence with 3-day Class-room Contact Classes in Mumbai and 2-Week Internship.

3-day class-room contact classes in Mumbai provide all the students with a profound understanding of Nutrigenomics, by lectures from experts in the field. Contact classes also provide an opportunity for students to meet many genetics experts.

Certificate Course in Nutrigenomics does not provide just academical knowledge but adequate practical knowledge that will take the student through all the steps of the Nutrigenomics DNA sequencing – right from collecting DNA samples from patients, receiving scientific genetic reports, professional nutrigenomics counseling and using the nutritional knowledge to design gene-based customized diet plans, including the required food supplements of clients. The internship aims to give students the opportunity to explore and apply all the knowledge studied during the course through real work experience.

Note: Attendance to the 3-day contact classes and 2-week internship is mandatory to be awarded the Certificate Course in Nutrigenomics Course.

Eligibility and Pre-requisites

Graduates from Life Sciences
B. Sc. Home Science with specialization in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition
PG Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition or its equivalent
Graduate (B Sc) or equivalent (MBBS, BHS etc.) from Home Science/ Food Science and Technology, Science, Health Care, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Catering along with the DNHE or CNCC or CFN offered by IGNOU (Simultaneous admission for CFN/CNCC also permitted)
Graduates of any discipline with credible work in the Health & Wellness Field

All eligible candidates who successfully complete the course followed by internship will be awarded ‘Certificate Course in Nutritional Genomics’ certification by WIGNET – in association with - a from a reputed educational institute.

Course Investment

Investment for the 4-Month Certificate Course in Nutrigenomics with 3-day contact classes and 2-weeks internship is Rs.35,000/- + 18% GST payable in one single installment before admission.

The fee includes printed text books, other study material in digital / print format, all academic activities including study-conferences and seminars, contact classes and 2-week internship at the Goregaon head office. Kindly note, fees does not include travel, accommodation and food.

Employment Opportunities

Selected students who successfully complete the Certificate Course in Nutrigenomics courses will have an opportunity to be absorbed as Nutrigenomics Counselors by Welocity Life Science Pvt. Ltd. And its allied Nutrigenomic companies and Welocity Business Centers across India.
